My Southern CA Life

So back in July I moved to Southern California, and any of you that are native to this area, may know where I moved to exactly, but even though I'm blasting my life, somethings are best kept secret.

It's been almost a month and I think I'm just now settling comfortably. I'm a pro at taking the bus here and coming from living in Finland, walking around and public transportation is nothing but second nature. HOWEVER there is TRAFFIC everywhere.

I don't go out much, seeing that I'm on my own here and don't have many friends, but I make due with my situation, and since I've visited here many times before, I've seen the sites that need to be seen.

What is great with my location, it is a constant 75F (23C) outside with a chilly breeze, but the sun shines on.

If you have seen my instagram, you may notice this little hairy roommate. He has became my best friend and confidant. I am afraid I am slowly turning into a cat person, sorry soma soms, but he's the only person to tell it like it is, well DUH! he's a cat. But enough about him.

Southern California is VERY different than Northern California, people here have a go go go have to be done yesterday attitude, where as Northerners are more, go go go, done today? Is that a thing? ANYWAY they have 1 thing in common, southern hospitality and heath nuts! :)

If your from either parts of California and just happened to be reading this, what is your opinion on the Cali folk, or if your not from Cali, I'm interested to hear what you think?

Thanks for reading!

Father Daughter Day

On Sunday my dad was in the area for work and he came over to my side of town to visit. We had a great father daughter day. I always enjoy hanging out with my dad. My favorite time was when he drove me cross country from California to Arkansas. Riding in his big truck was the best. I never had been in a big rig before or slept at truck stops, it was awesome.

Sunday, we just went out for a late lunch early dinner and THE BEST dinner. It is called "50's Cafe". It's located on Santa Monica Blvd, in West L.A. They are a 50's inspired dinner with really good shakes and burgers. My dad ordered the Dakota Buffalo Burger and I had the California Burger. (mine came with avocado, it's not Californian if it does not have avocado) I showed him where I work and a little of Santa Monica and were off to the beach to walk off our food. We drove down PCH a little ways from the Santa Monica pier, to a beach I can not remember.

But the best part of our day was the dinner. If your visiting the LA area, I recommend you stop by the Cafe 50's

Finding the Perfect Place to Stay

Traveling in Europe was a great experience and nothing says experience than staying in a hostel. Being from the US, hostels never seemed to be the most safest or cleanest places. That all changed once I  looked for places the Europe trip. One of the websites that I used for all bookings was,Hostel World. There is also Hostel Bookers, but since I didn't use them, I can't give an opinion, but their website didn't seem as inviting as Hostel World. If your planning a Euro trip, either to one city or more, your best starting place is Hostel World. Check them out on FacebookTwitter or Pinterest
